Wikis are websites created by its users. The editing of wikis can be done collaboratively by its users. Many teachers use wikis for their classes. Creating online environment for students to create, collaborate and edit creates potential in the use of wikis in the classroom. For example, the teacher can create a topic for the students to debate. Students can go onto the wiki to debate this topic. As a facilitator, the teacher can monitor the student responses and guide the students into meaningful exchanges. Wikis can be extremely useful in the classroom. Wikis are a great starting point for teachers to incorporate a blended learning environment. They might not be as exciting as some other digitally interactive tools, but they can provide opportunity for collaboration between students and teachers.
