Webinars
Webinars are a great way to boost Professional Development. It is basically a free or paid seminar or workshop that takes place online with participants across the globe. There is a moderator or facilitator, who usually is an expert in the topic of the webinar. These are extremely helpful for teachers who want to learn more about a particular topic. Participants can ask questions and comment if they are participating live. Many times there is a global connection because there are people chiming in from all over the world. It is a great place to obtain and understand similarities and differences of cross cultural concepts. For a new teacher or a teacher who has been out of the classroom for a while, these are very valuable tools. They can be little eyes into current topics and issues going on in education. Typically they run about an hour long but if you stay on and listen to the moderators, many times they finish up answering questions and provide resources for that particular topic.
