As education technology evolves, we are seeing that e-learning is reaching farther than ever before. E-learning has become a must in the 21st century classroom. Educators have found that the authentic learning takes place when students are stimulated in a variety of ways. E-learning has the opportunity to provide a visual, interactive, fun way to learn while students enjoy the process. Another popular modern education concept is individualized learning. There is no better way to personalize learning than creating a digital environment. As student with different levels of learning progress through school, e-learning can keep track of where they are and create opportunity to scaffold. Digital texts have many uses in the classroom. Digital texts are convenient, flexible, cost efficient and current. Educators use digital texts to personalize reading for students, with access to many levels of reading. By manipulating the digital text through use of e-sticky notes, search functions, rearranging and condensing text, students are able to customize their learning. Many times digital texts are more exciting than print as they are more current, offer a larger variety, and have interactive components. Digital texts can be used for struggling readers who can have the text read aloud to them as they follow along digitally. Digital texts can also create collaboration as students can see important customizations others have made, such as highlighting. In this category e-learning resources, I have included digital textbooks, adaptive learning tools, and open course software. The Math Techbook from Discovery Education has received recognition lately as it is a digital textbook with real world problems that can be viewed on any device.
